The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. The contact stated while driving at various speeds or upon starting the vehicle, the ABS, traction control, and check engine warning lights remained illuminated. The contact stated that the heater and air condition failed to operate. The contact also stated that the dashboard was cracked. The rubber padding for the wires under the hood and under the front driver’s side was dry rotted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was notified of a major electrical malfunction and engine misfire. The mechanic stated that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 280,000.
