Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle was overheating. An alarm sounded and the message “HOT” was displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle cooled down as he released the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the bolts had backed out from the intake manifold causing coolant to leak into the engine, leading to spark plug failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
