Consumer Description

NHSTA Recall Number 21V650 was issued in August of 2021. It is now 2023 and the replacement battery for my 2020 Bolt is not yet available. Further I have received no information about when I should expect my replacement battery to become available. GM appears to be prioritizing selling new electric vehicles with their lithium battery supply, rather than fixing a safety hazard with vehicles already on the road. GM has had plenty of time to plan for when batteries would be available for this recall, and yet there has been no public statement about when 2020 Bolt batteries would become available. I would like the NHSTA to apply the needed pressure on GM to make them be more forthcoming about when this safety problem will be resolved.
