NHTSA Complaint #11497803 — 2015 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH and making a left turn at an intersection, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated 10 minutes prior to the vehicle losing motive power and stalling. The contact placed the vehicle in park(P) and was able to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled again after driving for several miles. The contact stated that the failure recurred, and the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that engine failed the compression test on all four cylinders. Additionally, coolant was leaking into cylinder #1 and #2. The mechanic determined that the failure was related to TSB: 19-2139, NHTSA ID Number: 10168739 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
