NHTSA Complaint #11496747 — 2012 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to reverse and park the vehicle on the side of the curb. The contact stated that the failure persisted upon turning off and restarting the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under Ford Campaign Number: 15N01 (EPAS Steering Efforts) due to the manufactured date. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 141,000.
