NHTSA Complaint #11494430 — 2022 HYUNDAI PALISADE

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that upon attaching the trailer to the tow hitch of the vehicle, the tow hitch failed to operate as needed as there was no indicator lights that the trailer was hitched to the vehicle. The contact stated that he replaced the electrical wiring of the trailer himself; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V633000 (Trailer Hitches). The dealer removed the tow hitch fuse as an interim repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 8,500. Parts distribution disconnect.
