NHTSA Complaint #11494111 — 2011 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle started shaking and the vehicle and failed to shift gears as needed. The contact was able to drive to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the mechanic stated that the molded lead frame needed to be replaced. The dealer also stated that there was a recall for the failure but that the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in a recall and that the read would be an out-of-pocket expense. The failure mileage was 179,300.
