NHTSA Complaint #11493029 — 2015 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while his son was driving at highway speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. His son was able to coast the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway and then had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that antifreeze had leaked into an engine cylinder which resulted in engine failure. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where they confirmed the failure and gave him an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls or warranty on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
