Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. Upon return of the vehicle from the dealer after routine maintenance, while the contact's son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the power steering assist message displayed. The contact's son had to use excessive force to drive the vehicle to the residence. The dealer was contacted about the failure but offered no assistance. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 155,000.
