The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated while an independent mechanic was checking the vehicle while shifting the gear shifter, the vehicle lunged forward and the contact noticed that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the contact was unsure of what needed to be replaced. The vehicle was also taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 59,000.
