Consumer Description
My motorcycle has what I call a "double pull' front brake problem. When the brake lever for the front brake is pulled, I get a significant difference in lever pull. On the first pull the lever comes close to the handle bar. If I release the lever and pull it a second time, the lever pulls to a normal reach. I would add the brakes engage/bite much better and what would be expected for a high performance brake system from Brembo on the second lever pull. Having to pump the brakes is a safety concern to both the rider and those in traffic. I have taken the motorcycle to my local Triumph dealer while it was under warranty. They were not able to fix the problem. I also reached out to Triumph North America and was told to take it to the dealer. I believe the bike was in the shop on two occasions but I only have paperwork for one of them. The brake fluid is at a good level and has been serviced/bleed three times with the problem instantly returning. No leaks can be found on the brake system. No warning lights on the motorcycle. The problem started around 1,000 miles on the motorcycle. I purchased the motorcycle new in August 2018 as a brand new 2016 model year left over. The manufactures warranty ran out in August 2020. I have been hesitant to aggressively pursue the problem as it seems Triumph has not found a resolution to fix the problem. There seems to be a common problem with this for many people with this motorcycle/brake system. Many people with this problem have taken the motorcycle in to the dealers and had brake pistons/seals replaced and still no resolution. Please see attached online forum thread describing the problem and inability to resolve the issue: https://www.triumphrat.net/threads/16-speed-triple-front-brake-issue-brembo.953404/
