Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle, the gear shifter failed to recognize the park(P) gear and the alarm system alerted him that the doors were unable to be locked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission shifter assembly needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the transmission shifter assembly. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 28,500.
