Consumer Description

The drivetrain shifted down to 1st gear while truck was moving at normal city street speeds. I fear the safety of this drivetrain shifting down while traveling at interstate speeds. Would most likely cause loss of control of vehicle. This problem happens at random times and we haven’t been able to duplicate it. Once the vehicle is stopped, turned off and back on, it clears the issue. No one has inspected the vehicle at this time and the Ford dealership said they could fix it for $1000. There were no warnings or other symptoms before this failure. This began about March 2022 and has happened 3 times. We had the transmission flushed because the mechanic said that could be the problem. This is still occurring.
