NHTSA Complaint #11478005 — 2014 FORD F-150

I was driving in town. Suddenly the "check brake fluid" light came on and brakes stopped working. Had to push all the way to the floor to get truck stopped. Went immediately to an independent service center nearby to have brakes checked. Mechanic knew immediately what the problem was and showed me where the brake fluid was going into the brake booster. He also stated he has seen the problem before and there is a recall out by Ford. I immediately contacted the Ford Dealership where I purchased the vehicle new. They told me I could bring it in for repairs but checked the VIN number and said there was no recall out for my truck yet. It was not safe to drive the truck in the condition it was in. I made a very cautious and slow drive approximately 20 miles to get the truck from my home to Southwest Ford in Weatherford, Texas for repairs. The repairs were made and I paid a total of $1,146.38 to cover the repairs. This problem is part of an ongoing recall. I am requesting my VIN be added to the recall for this known problem so that I may request a reimbursement from Ford Motor Co. Thank you.
