NHTSA Complaint #11477320 — 2014 FORD F-150

Brake warning light came on and brake pedal went further down toward floorboard. Drove cautiously to auto parts store for brake fluid. Thankfully I wasn’t driving at higher speeds on a major highway. Filled empty reservoir and made it to independent auto repair shop about 3 miles away. Reservoir empty again. Mechanic says brake master cylinder is leaking brake fluid into the brake booster. Informed me of safety recall 16S24, but my VIN was not included. Same make, model, engine size and manufacturing plant as recall. Called local Ford dealership and they would not fix for free, because VIN not included. Repair cost me $1395.54! I do not understand why my truck is not covered under the recall and request a further investigation as to why Ford is not responsible for the reimbursement of the failed safety components.
