General Motors Corporation has failed to remedy, in a timely manner, a known safety-related defect and, therefore, remains in non-compliance to a federal motor vehicle safety standard, a violation, in part, to S10.15.6 of FMVSS No. 108. Failure to remedy this defect increases the risk of a crash, and could lead to the death of a driver and/or passenger and/or pedestrian. Expecting owners/operators of affected vehicles to exercise patience is an unreasonable expectation, given the risk involved. A reflection caused by the headlight housings may illuminate areas above the vehicle and outside of the driver’s view with excessively bright light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
