NHTSA Complaint #11471112 — 2021 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4

On 6/25/2022 while driving on the freeway an object struck the windshield of our vehicle, a 2021 Volkswagen ID4 causing it to fracture. We took our vehicle to our local dealership in order to have a factory replacement installed. I was told that the windshield for my vehicle was not available and would likely take several months to receive. It is my understanding that an auto manufacture MUST provide parts in a reasonable timeline (within 30 days) especially if it is related to safety and drivability. I would like to make DOT aware of my experience, and to inform you that I wish to file a complaint.
