NHTSA Complaint #11465152 — 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact initially received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V165000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the windshield wipers failed while driving in a rainstorm. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and waited for the rain to subside before resuming driving. The contact stated that an abnormal clicking sound was coming from the windshield wiper module while attempting to activate the windshield wipers. The dealer was notified of the recall and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact then received a call back from the dealer and was informed that might be able to have the recall repair performed if she paid for a diagnostic test and the repair. The dealer also informed her that she might be eligible for reimbursement once the parts for the recall repair become available. The manufacturer had been notified of the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
