NHTSA Complaint #11435972 — 2010 FORD F-150

On October 5, 2021 (Wednesday) I was driving my 2010 F-150 Lariat and noticed the brakes fading as I came to brake for red lights. I also noticed “BRAKE WARNING” lights & “BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW” light come on also. I pulled into a CVS store and looked under the hood to & saw the “Master Cylinder Brake Fluid RESERVOIR” nearly empty. I put 1 bottle of DOT 3 brake fluid in fluid container and saw level go back down, almost empty, upon turning truck on to pressurize the system. I didn’t see any fluid leaking from under truck & bought another bottle of DOT3 Brake Fluid and again the reservoir emptied again. I got the vehicle home and the next day the same thing happened after a 3rd refill of the reservoir. AGAIN STILL NOT SEEING ANY FLUID LEAKS ON MY DRIVEWAY!!! I disconnected a vacuum tube at top of “BRAKE BOOSTER” which is connected to the “Master Cylinder” and looked inside to see large amount of BRAKE FLUID IN THE “BRAKE BOOSTER HOUSING”!!! I saw where 2014 to 2017 Ford F-150’s have been recalled for this exact same SAFETY ISSUE!
