NHTSA Complaint #11435607 — 2016 KIA SOUL

The contact owned a 2016 Kia Soul. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at 25 - 30 mph, there was smoke coming from the engine. The contact's daughter pulled over and exited the vehicle. The vehicle then caught on fire. The police and fire department was called, and the fire department extinguished the fire. A fire department report was filed. No medical attention was received. No injury was sustained. The vehicle remained at the scene of the failure and was not towed. The insurance company had not deemed the vehicle totaled. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
