Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated that their vehicle's passenger rear sliding door failed to close. The contact noticed that the wires had been burnt which later caused malfunctions with the passenger headlamp and brake lamp to fail. The contact stated that while pulling into a stop at a stoplight they noticed smoke coming from under the hood of the vehicle. The contact drove about a mile and a half at a slow speed to the nearest certified mechanic who stated that the wire harness for the sliding door needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed their vehicle's VIN was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000
