NHTSA Complaint #11430647 — 2019 RAM 3500

The contact owns a fleet of 2019 Ram 3500. The contact stated while an employee was driving 2 mph, the rear passenger’s side wheel detached from the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the wheel studs to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V398000 (Wheels) on August 26, 2021 however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called the local dealer and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The failure mileage was approximately 102.
