NHTSA Complaint #11426990 — 2018 HONDA ACCORD

I was on a very busy interstate highway during a rainstorm going between 60 and 70 MPH. I was in the left lane when the check engine light came on and it went into limp home mode and my speed was immediately reduced in heavy traffic. I was lucky enough to move to the slow lane and then to the break down lane and get to an exit. I pulled in at an area I could shut the car off. I let it sit for about 15 minutes and started the car and the check engine light was off and everything has been normal since then. This was extremely dangerous . The speed dropped below 40 very suddenly and then 30 and then 20 on an interstate. The next day I went to the local Honda dealer and described what had happened and they said they had seen this happen before and talked about the radar and the collision mitigation system possibly being the problem. They said they never saw any codes set in the other vehicles so since mine was off I did not have it checked. I have recently had it checked at my local Honda dealer for transmission issues and they could not find anything either concerning the check engine light , but it has been a couple of months since the incident.
