Consumer Description
The contact owns a 1998 Harley Davidson ASVE equipped with KracoMoto handlebar risers part number: SR005-001BV64. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, he noticed that the steering had failed when he attempted to make two right turns and was unaware as to when the right side handlebar had detached. The contact then crashed into a guardrail. The contact sustained injuries but no medical attention was received on the scene. The contact was later treated for injuries by a physician. A police report was filed. The contact self-diagnosed that the handlebar risers were too short which caused the right side handlebar to detached. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by email. The failure mileage was unknown. Consumer has stated bike is a custom home build Harley ridge frame and motor is from S&S Cycles. Consumer placed the motorcycle under torque which caused the handlebar to become free from base and your left holding it freely, shortness of the screws was the cause. Consumer has contacted the supplier.*JB
