Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes Benz C300. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V197000 (STRUCTURE) however, the part to do the recall was unavailable. The contact stated on June 18, 2021, while driving 55 mph, the roof plastic panel detached and flew into oncoming traffic. The contact stated no one was injured. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000. VIN tool confirms part not available.
