Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING MALFUNCTION WARNING MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,000.
