Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 KIA OPTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT FLASHING. ADDITIONALLY, THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A DEFECTIVE KNOCK SENSOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 166,000.
