Consumer Description

2015 CHEVROLET COLORADO, Z71 TRIM, V6 GASOLINE ENGINE THE IGNITION KEY IS AT TIMES STUCK IN THE IGNITION WITH NO RELIABLE WAY FOR REMOVAL. THE SWITCH WILL TURN FAR ENOUGH TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE, HOWEVER THE CYLINDER WILL NOT TURN FAR ENOUGH BACK TO ALLOW FOR REMOVAL OF THE KEY. THERE ARE SEVERAL PROBLEMS RELATED TO THIS EXACT ISSUE ONLINE, MEANING THIS IS NOT A "ONE OFF" TYPE OF PROBLEM. THERE IS ALSO A GM SERVICE BULLETIN COVERING THIS ISSUE. BULLETIN PI1429 MULTIPLE TIMES WE HAVE HAD TO LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AS IT COULD NOT BE REMOVED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS UNHELPFUL WHEN CONTACTED. THEY WERE UNSURE OF THE PROBLEM, UNSURE IF IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, THE ESTIMATED COST, OR EVEN ABLE TO FIND THE BULLETIN AFTER I GAVE THEM THE NUMBER.
