Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER BOYFRIEND WAS DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. A MONTH AFTER THE INITIAL FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEAD GASKET AND VALVES WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE ENGINE CEASED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CHANTZ SCOTT KIA (929 E STONE DR, KINGSPORT, TN 37660), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,534. *LN*JB*DT*JB
