Consumer Description
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V001000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL REMEDY WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. PEACOCK FORD (1875 S ORLANDO AVE, MAITLAND, FL 32751, (407) 644-7111) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND WERE ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED, THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS UNINTENTIONALLY DEPLOYED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE SEAT BELT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS NOT OPERABLE AFTER THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A CRASH REPORT NUMBER. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CHEMICAL BURNS ON THE RIGHT HAND AND LEFT FOREARM. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PEACOCK FORD, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY HAD NO RECORD OF THE CONTACT REACHING OUT TO THEM.
