Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V435000 (SUSPENSION) AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED AT VIVA FORD (5550 N DESERT BLVD, EL PASO, TX 79912, 915-834-2800). AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MIDDLE OF BOTH REAR TIRES BEGAN TO WEAR ON THE TRACTION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRE WEAR WAS NOT RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE SUPERVISOR WHO AGREED TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT TIRES AND OFFERED A FREE ALIGNMENT. THE DEALER SWITCHED THE TWO FRONT TIRES AND PLACED THEM IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER THEN PLACED TWO NEW TIRES ON THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED, THE CONTACT'S WIFE DROVE THE VEHICLE OUT OF STATE. UPON REACHING HER DESTINATION, SHE NOTICED THAT THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN WITH THE REAR TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
