Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE AIR BAGS WERE DISABLED FROM A SENSOR LOCATED UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. KIA OF SOUTH AUSTIN (5306 S IH 35 FRONTAGE RD, AUSTIN, TX 78745, (512) 444-6635) QUOTED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD COST OVER $1,000 AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER AGREED TO SPLIT THE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER PAID FOR THE PARTS AND THE CONTACT PAID FOR THE LABOR. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V109000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) THAT OFFERED REIMBURSEMENT FOR PREVIOUS REPAIRS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART WAS FINE AND NO REPAIRS WERE NEEDED. THE CONTACT SUBMITTED A REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT, BUT WAS DENIED SIX WEEKS LATER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,718.
