Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, AFTER THE CONTACT FILLED UP THE FUEL TANK, IT TOOK FOUR ATTEMPTS FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE SOLENOID EVAPORATION SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPAIRS WERE BEING COMPLETED WITH MANUFACTURER APPROVED PARTS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
