Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH EXITING A RAMP, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED OVER 80 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE GUARDRAIL AND A BRIDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONLY THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, SHOULDERS, AND RIGHT KNEE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A FACILITY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD NOT YET INVESTIGATED THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS EXTENSIVELY DAMAGED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AFTER THE CRASH. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 230,000.
