Consumer Description

"CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. I OPENED VEHICLE SETTINGS FROM THE MENU TO DETERMINE WHAT THE LIGHT WAS FOR. ALL SYSTEMS INDICATED OK. NEAREST SERVICEMAN CHECKED FOR CODES: CODE 4873, EGR SYSTEM. ONLINE, EGR RECALLS IN US AND EUROPE, HOWEVER MY VEHICLE DOES NOT SHOW UP AS PART OF ANY OF THEM. CALLED BMW AND THEY SAY I AM ON MY OWN. I AM CONCERNED THAT I MAY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE THAT INVOLVES THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION MODULE WITH AN INTEGRATED COOLER. I FEEL LIKE THERE IS ENOUGH EVIDENCE OF OTHER MODELS HAVING THIS ISSUE, THAT THERE MAY BE MORE BMWS AT RISK THAT HAVE NOT YET BEEN IDENTIFIED.
