Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INCREASED TO HIGH AND A WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED REGARDING THE ENGINE BEING TOO HOT. THE CONTACT HAD TO REMOVE THE COOLANT CAP IN ORDER FOR THE GAUGE TO RETURN TO NORMAL AND THE WARNING INDICATOR TO CLEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEAD GASKET WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND COULD NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,918.
