Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HUMMER H3. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD INADVERTENTLY MOVE TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE UPPER STEERING SHAFT AND A BUSHING THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 143,000.
