Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HARD SHIFTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD WHILE STATIONARY AND SUFFERED A LOSS OF POWER OR ENGINE STALLING ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE AND THE IGNITION COILS FAILED AND CAUSED A CYLINDER MISFIRE. IN ADDITION, THE IGNITION COILS MELTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 135,000.
