Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. AL WILLIE FORD (1603 US-181 S, PORTLAND, TX 78374) DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A PREVIOUS RECALL REGARDING THE TORQUE SENSOR. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED PER THE UNKNOWN RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED WHAT THE DEALER STATED AND THAT THE REPAIR WOULD COST $695 AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. A VIN SEARCH REVEALED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
