Consumer Description

MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE HAS BEEN RANDOMLY SHUTTING DOWN READING "HIGH ENGINE TEMPERATURE STOP SAFELY", THIS HAS OCCURRED 6 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS. THE UPPER HEATER HOSE WAS REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 12/27/17 FOR THE SAME ISSUE. HOWEVER, TODAY WHEN I WAS GOING 40 MPH I HAD THE SAME ISSUE OCCUR ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS TIME SMOKE WAS POURING OUT OF THE ENGINE AND COOLANT WAS OBVIOUSLY LEAKING OUT OF THE CAR. I WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER FEARING THAT THE CAR WOULD CATCH ON FIRE. THIS CAR HAS HAD 14 RECALLS, 3 OF WHICH ARE RELATED TO ENGINE/COOLANT PROBLEMS BUT FORD HAS EXPLAINED THAT THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY MY CAR KEEPS DOING THIS.
