Consumer Description

TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BMW 328I. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V676000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 17V683000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE INTERIM RECALL NOTICE INDICATED THAT THE REMEDY AND REPAIR PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN AS TO WHEN THE SECOND LETTER WOULD BE SENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER, INDICATING THAT THE PART WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V071000 (AIR BAGS) AND WAS TO PROVIDE THE REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
