TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SLIGHTLY OPENED, WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH. THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR BUT IT FAILED TO CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V328000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE CONTACT CALLED BMW OF AMERICA MANUFACTURER AT (800) 525-7417, WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT IT WOULD TAKE THREE DAYS BEFORE THEY COULD GET BACK TO HIM AND DID NOT OFFER FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
