Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 KIA SORENTO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES, BUT THEY FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER, BUT THE STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AND WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER THE SECOND ATTEMPT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (KIA WEST COUNTY), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
