Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V673000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. TYLER CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP OF MICHIGAN (LOCATED AT 810 SOUTH 11TH ST NILES, MICHIGAN 49120) STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WITHOUT WARNING. ALSO, OVER THE COURSE OF THREE YEARS, A PERSISTENT CREAKING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE AIR BAGS WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
