Consumer Description

THIS COMPLAINT HAS TO DO WITH BMW MODEL 535I AIR CONDITIONER FOR VEHICLES WITH A PRODUCTION DATE PRIOR TO 2013. THE AC CONDENSER IS KNOWN FOR PREMATURE FAILURE DUE TO CORROSION, AS IDENTIFIED IN BMW SERVICE BULLETIN SI B64 10 15 (ATTACHED). I CONTACTED BMW ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA, PASSPORT BMW MARYLAND AND BMW NORTH AMERICAN, ALL TOLD ME MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I NEEDED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART THAT SHOULD FALL UNDER A RECALL FOR REPLACEMENT BY BMW. FOR THE BMW OWNERS WHO ARE UNABLE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR, THIS BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE EXTREME HEAT DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS.
