Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SUBSEQUENTLY SHUT DOWN. THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 15V879000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, INTERIOR LIGHTING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,000.
