Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED FROM HIGH GEAR TO A LOWER GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
