Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BMW 328I. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD THUMP AND "CATASTROPHIC FAILURE" APPEARED ON THE MESSAGE BOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER OPERABLE. ONCE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP, THE CONTACT NOTICED OIL POURING OUT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ONTO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT IT NEEDED THE ENGINE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
