Consumer Description

SUDDEN AND SUBSTANTIAL LEAK UNDER CAR. SOME IRREGULAR GEAR ISSUES WHEN IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY AND THEN ON A SUBSEQUENT COUNTY ROAD. MECHANIC SAID THE PTU NEEDED REPAIR, TO TAKE TO DEALER. FORTUNATELY, NO MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES YET, AND I'M NOT WAITING FOR ANY. DEALER SAID TO TAKE CARE OF IT ASAP, BUT CAN'T GET ME IN FOR A WEEK. OBVIOUSLY NOT AS SERIOUS EPISODE AS THESE OTHERS I'M READING, BUT I'M NOT DRIVING IT FOR A WEEK TO AVOID A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL TO AVOID A TRAGEDY AND A DEFINITE LAWSUIT! I'M BEING AS PROACTIVE AS I CAN TO AVOID A DANGER, BUT THE COST AT THE FORD DEALER IS ESTIMATED AT ABOUT $1700. IF THERE IS A RECALL AFTER MY CAR IS FIXED, WILL THERE BE COMPENSATION TO ME? ABSOLUTELY ABSURD SITUATION!
