TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TURNING THE IGNITION KEY TO START THE ENGINE, AN EXPLOSION OCCURRED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
